According to a study by the French Ministry of the Interior, violent confrontations in public areas have increased in recent years. Especially in major cities such as Paris, Marseille and Lyon, such incidents are on the rise, with the reasons often complex and involving both social and economic factors. Between 2020 and 2023, there were reports of an increase of around 15% in crimes in public spaces.
